A Fashion Show & A Movie Night!! |

Maurice's (a women's clothing store) located in Albemarle on Hwy. 24/27 in Albemarle Plaza next to Belk's is hosting an event called "Rescues & Runways". This is a donation drive to collect pet food/collars/leashes, etc. They have asked us to be the recipient of the proceeds & want for us to do an AAP there @ the store on Sept. 26 from 10-12. During those hours, they are hosting a fashion show featuring our pets. Maurice's is a specialty retailer /w/ over 700 locations in 44 states & all store locations will be participating.

SEPTEMBER EVENTS 5 - Adopt-A-Pet in Albemarle at Cannon Park 10 am - 12 noon 12 - Adopt-a-Pet at PetSense in Albemarle 10am-2pm **12- Movie Night in Albemarle at Central Elementary School/Webb Field 7pm-10pm** **18 & 19 - Booth at Badin Fest with Adopt-A-Pet there on Saturday 10 am - 12 noon** **26 - Adopt-a-Pet at Maurice's in Albemarle 10am - 12 noon**
OCTOBER EVENTS 3 - Adopt-A-Pet in Albemarle at Cannon Park 10am - 12 noon 10 - Adopt-a-Pet in Locust at Locust Presbyterian Church 10am - 12 noon 17 - Adopt-A-Pet in Locust at Albemarle at Cannon Park 10am - 12 noon 24- Adopt-a-Pet in Albemarle at Tractor Supply 10am - 12 noon
Adopt-A-Pet events are held in Albemarle at Cannon Park across from the YMCA on 1st St. and at Tractor Supply on Hwy 24/27, and at Locust on Hwy 24/27. in front of Locust Presbyterian Church across from Southern States. Other locations as announced.
All outdoor Adopt-a-Pets are held only if weather permits.

What Happened in August?
1. The first day of the month brought a great Albemarle home for Wiggles. 4. Linus went to his new home in Norwood with his wonderful new family. 5. Brought in two puppies found in Albemarle. 6. Cleopatra was adopted and Wilmington will be her purr-fect new home. 8. Vader was adopted and will be living in Salisbury. It was off to New London for Kahuna with his new family. 12. Mt Pleasant is now home for Raven who was adopted by a family there. Saydee has been adopted and will be living with her new family in Locust. 13. Sometimes, now matter how hard we try to save one, God has other plans. Rest in Peace, Maggie. 14. Muffin's been adopted and she'll be living in Norwood. Found a pup by Lake Tillery and brought in a dog wandering a trailer park. 16. Brought in a kitten found stopping traffic on Hwy 24/27. 17. Jiggs was adopted and will be living with his new family in Albemarle. 18. It's off to Gastonia for Medley to live with his new family. 19. Thomasville will be the new abode for Bessie (to be known as Stella). 22. At our first ever Adopt-a-Pet at Tractor Supply, we had an adoption! Mr. Schroeder left with a nice young couple from New London. 24. Darling & Walker were lucky enough to get adopted to the same Albemarle family!

Did you know?
Puppies can't control their bladders overnight until they are at least four months old. Until then, cover the floor around the puppy's bed with newspapers.

Thought you might want some updated pictures of the puppy (Linus aka Doby). He's doing really well adapting to his new home. I think he's really enjoying himself and he is 100% spoiled rotten already!! Hope you enjoy the pics! Jessie
